Safe home your German Shepherd puppy
German shepherd puppy is a very curious pup. He is an explorer and there-fore is looking to investigate his new surroundings. His mission is to smell, bite and taste any object that stimulates his curiosity. You must be very cautious and keep harmful objects and hazardous material away from your puppy. As a responsible dog owner, it is your responsibility to provide a safe and hazard free surrounding. To make your home safe for your new puppy, eliminate potential hazards around the house and pay attention to the following items.
- Keep breakable objects out of reach from your German shepherd puppy.
- Deny access to electrical cords by hiding or covering them.
- Make outlets safe with plastic outlet plugs.
- Safely store household chemicals away from the reach of you German shepherd puppy.
- In your garage be sure that engine lubricants and other poisonous chemicals (especially antifreeze) are safely stored.
- If you own a pool or hot tub please, check the cover or the surrounding fence area to be sure they're in good and safe condition.
- If you provide your German shepherd puppy with an outdoor kennel, you should position it in an area that provides plenty of sunlight and shelter.
- Be sure the kennel is large enough to comfortably accommodate your puppy's size (NOT ADULT SIZE).
Keep the following house and garden plants out of reach
- Poinsettias
- Azaleas
- Rhododendrons
- Dumb Cane
- Japanese Yew
- Oleander Ivy
- English Ivy among others.
